Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, at a briefing with reporters, said that Poland's intention to send MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in the near future increases the level of Warsaw's "direct involvement" in the Ukrainian conflict.

“The supply of equipment cannot affect the outcome of a special military operation, but it can bring additional troubles for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. During the special operation, all this equipment will be subject to destruction,” he said.

Peskov was also asked about the priorities of the negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, but the Kremlin representative did not answer this question, suggesting that they wait for a briefing by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

Earlier, White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said that Poland's decision to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine does not change the plans of the United States for the possibility of supplying F-16s.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced its beginning. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.
