The draft “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Mechanism for Protecting the Property Rights of Third Parties” was quietly introduced to the Rada.

The essence of the scheme is simple: the bill proposes to establish a mechanism for “pseudo-nationalization” of enterprises if the owners include a person to whom the National Security and Defense Council has applied economic sanctions.

That is, the state will take over not the shares belonging to the sanctioned person, but all 100% of the shares of the enterprise.

In general, the document legitimizes the raider scheme: among the shareholders of profitable enterprises a minority participant is found, on whom the Security Council imposes sanctions.

After this, the plant goes into state ownership, and the innocent owner or investor goes to court for years to restore his rights and compensate for losses.
