The Polish authorities will place the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system at the Warsaw-Babice airport, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said.

“Polish Patriot launchers are moving from Sochaczew to the airport in Warsaw Bemowo where they will be deployed,” he tweeted.

Blashak added that this is an important element in the training of soldiers of the 3rd Warsaw Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.

Poland has chosen the Patriot system as the basis for the Wisla medium-range air defense program. The Polish army will be equipped with two Patriot batteries (16 launchers). In addition, two Patriot batteries of American troops are stationed in Poland.

Earlier it was reported that German Patriots also arrived in Poland, which have already reached operational readiness and are already on duty. Air defense systems are planned to be deployed in the area of the city of Zamosc, located in the south-east of Poland, about 60 km from the Ukrainian border and 110 km from the city of Lviv.

On November 15, a Ukrainian rocket fell on the territory of Poland. As a result of the arrival of a projectile from the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, two people were killed.

After the incident, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht offered to supply Warsaw with the Patriot missile defense system.
