Armenia should take the opportunity to shake the hands of peace extended by the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar to Milliyet newspaper.

“Armenian leadership should shake the hands of peace extended by Ilham Aliyev and our president. It makes no sense to be in illusions, being influenced by others. We ask Armenia to take advantage of this opportunity,” Akar said.

He noted that Turkey and Azerbaijan exist "as one fist and one heart."

Akar stressed that the "Zangezur corridor", which should connect the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. Through the territory of Armenia, it is very valuable for the region.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey and Armenia agreed to restore direct cargo flights.

Turkey and Armenia do not have formalized diplomatic relations, and the border between the countries has been closed since 1993 at the initiative of the Turkish side.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said earlier that Russia was ready to organize a trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Azerbaijan that had not taken place before.
