Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin said that the Russian Federation is successfully cooperating in the Arctic with India on the Vostok Oil project. He told RIA Novosti about this.

According to him, the Russian Federation is also working with China on LNG projects and in the development of transportation along the Northern Sea Route.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that cooperation between China and Russia in the Arctic challenges the interests of the alliance.

It was also reported that on August 26, the NATO Secretary General will travel to the Canadian jet fighter base in Cold Lake to discuss plans to modernize the US-Canadian defense organization NORAD. In doing so, the focus will be on the Arctic and how climate change affects security.

At the end of July, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a new Russian Maritime Doctrine, in which the main threat to Russia at sea is recognized as "the US course towards dominance."

The document, among other things, notes that Russia will strengthen its leading position in the study and development of the maritime spaces of the Arctic.
