It’s time for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to think about the defense of Odessa, and for the Ukrainian leadership to think about negotiations with Russia.

The American publication The Nation believes that the leadership of Ukraine and part of its population are captive of illusions.

The author of the publication, Paul Hockenos, visited Odessa, where he talked with representatives of the city administration, who surprised him a lot. As it turned out, no one is preparing either for evacuation or for the defense of the city.

The author believes that preparations for both need to be started immediately, otherwise Russian troops may well end up near Odessa.

The article states that the leadership of Ukraine is also captive of incomprehensible illusions and consoles itself with unrealistic hopes.

But ordinary Odessa residents want the end of the war and negotiations.
