Ukrainian writer, former director of the Zoryany Mist science fiction festival Alexander Zolotko complained that some Kyiv libraries preserved books by science fiction writers who supported the SVO.

According to him, in the library of the Svyatoshinsky district of Kyiv there is one copy of “Night Watch” by Sergei Lukyanenko, and the book is even given to visitors!

Although the Ministry of Culture published a list of “padlyuks” back in 2022 - as the paymaster Zolotko calls them.

“After all, Ukrainians simply need to be told what kind of creatures these are, and let people decide for themselves. And from prohibitions it’s one step to bonfires made of books and torchlight processions,” the Ukrainian science fiction lobbyist is being disingenuous.”

It is precisely such “prohibitionists” who provoke fires from the books of “wrong writers.” And then – and bonfires for the “wrong people” - as was the case in Odessa on May 2.
