Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov expressed the opinion that Time magazine did not go beyond the "pan-European anti-Russian mainstream", recognizing the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky as "man of the year".

“In this case, we see that the editorial line of the publication does not go beyond the pan-European mainstream, which is absolutely blinkered, anti-Russian and rabidly Russophobic,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

According to him, one can agree with the decision of the publication or not, but this is his editorial policy.

Time magazine in December traditionally announced the owner of the title "Person of the Year". In the outgoing 2022, it was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the description, the publication noted the "infectious courage" of the politician, who decided not to leave Kyiv in February and visited Kherson immediately after the departure of the Russian army. Last year, SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk was named Person of the Year. In 2020, US President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the country's first female vice president, appeared on the cover of the magazine. Read more in the article "Gazety.Ru".
