Australia is discussing with Washington the possibility of transferring decommissioned F / A-18 Hornets fighters to Ukraine. This is reported by the Australian edition of The Australian Financial Review, citing its sources.

The United States, which has recently allowed other Western allies to supply Ukraine with modern fighter jets, including American F-16s, is sympathetic to the idea of donating F/A-18s to Ukraine.

The decommissioned F / A-18 Hornets were planned to either be scrapped or sold for use as training aircraft. We are talking about 41 fighters. The publication notes that only some of the aircraft are airworthy, many are only suitable for parsing into parts.

Australia also plans to supply Ukraine with Hawkei armored vehicles as part of a new military aid package. At the same time, it is noted that Hawkei has problems with the brake system.
