President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has convened an emergency meeting of the country's National Security Council in connection with the destruction at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (Kherson region).

“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in connection with the explosion of the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir, decided to hold an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the head of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, wrote on his Twitter page.

Earlier, the Telegram channel "Military correspondents of the Russian Spring" reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had struck at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

At the same time, the mayor of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontyev, argued that the information about the explosion of the hydroelectric power station was nonsense, and everything was calm in the city.

Later, Leontiev declared that the worst possible outcome in connection with the destruction at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station had passed.
