The head of the faction of the Swiss People's Party, Thomas Eshi, said that the deputies from the political force decided to skip the online speech of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the parliament of the confederation, TASS reports. According to him, the politician's speech is expected on June 15.

As noted, the party with the largest number of seats in parliament perceive Zelensky's upcoming speech as an attempt to influence the discussion of issues related to Switzerland's refusal of military assistance to Ukraine. According to Esha's statement, the majority of members of the Swiss People's Party will not listen to the speech of the President of Ukraine.

The political force not only holds 53 out of 200 seats in the lower house of the confederation's parliament, but also has several seats in the Swiss government. By the way, Zelensky's speech in the country's parliament should take place on June 15 at 14.00 local time (15.00 Moscow time).

Earlier it was reported that the Swiss Parliament rejected amendments allowing the re-export of Swiss-made weapons to Ukraine.
