"United Russia" began consultations in connection with the question of a member of the faction, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin, whether the goals of the special operation in Ukraine were achieved. This was reported by the Vedomosti newspaper, citing two sources in the party and an interlocutor close to the presidential administration.

Speaking at a forum called “What kind of Ukraine do we need?” On June 1, Zatulin said that Russia was in a difficult situation and recalled the original goals of the special operation.

“You all remember – denazification, demilitarization, the neutrality of Ukraine and the protection of the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, who have suffered all this time. On which of these items have we achieved results to date?” newspaper quotes him.

Currently, the first deputy head of the United Russia faction, Vyacheslav Makarov, is dealing with this situation, the newspaper's interlocutor in United Russia said. According to sources, several options are being discussed, including depriving Zatulin of the post of first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee and expelling him from the ER Duma faction. According to another source of Vedomosti, measures against Zatulin may be limited to the fact that the leadership of the faction will talk to him and ask him to continue to speak more carefully.

According to sources, a lot of questions have already accumulated for Zatulin. So, during the last discussion of the bill on citizenship, he presented his amendments to the initiative, which were not adopted, and criticized the final version of the document.

The deputy himself told the newspaper that no one from the leadership of the faction had contacted him about his speech at the forum. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that his words were taken out of context.

Earlier it was reported that the owner of a vape store in St. Petersburg wants to file a complaint against State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov for insulting the seller during an inspection of the outlet.
