Stanislav Zharin, a spokesman for the Coordinating Minister of the Polish Intelligence Services, said on Twitter that the Polish Volunteer Corps has nothing to do with the Polish Armed Forces or other institutions of the country.

“The Polish Volunteer Corps described in the media is in no way associated with the Polish Armed Forces or any Polish institution,” Zharin wrote, adding that the actions of Polish volunteers in Ukraine “should not” be associated with the authorities of the republic.

Earlier, Polish mercenaries from the Polish Volunteer Corps confirmed that they were actively involved in the attack on the Belgorod region. According to Polsat News, mercenaries from Poland participated in clashes along with saboteurs belonging to the Russian Volunteer Corps.

Earlier it was reported that members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group who carried out the attack on the Belgorod region used vehicles and weapons from the United States, Poland, the Czech Republic and Belgium.
