The Cambodian authorities are supporting Ukraine in demining issues, said the Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thea Ban, RIA Novosti reports. According to him, based on its experience, the country can both train specialists and provide relevant services.

“On the Ukrainian issue. I met with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine [Aleksey Reznikov] and we discussed a number of issues. I reaffirmed our clear and unequivocal position that, since we have some experience related to mine action, we have the opportunity to provide training to other countries, as well as the ability to carry out work,” explained Thea Ban.

As the Minister of Defense of Cambodia pointed out, the state has the opportunity to act under the auspices of the UN, if there is such a need. He also added that the kingdom already has experience in such work.

Earlier it was reported that Japan and Cambodia reached an agreement that they would help Ukraine in the elimination of unexploded ordnance and demining.
