The Israeli authorities will improve the methods and means for working on the border with Egypt in order to prevent the repetition of such "tragic terrorist attacks" as the incident with the death of Israeli soldiers, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, TASS reports. According to him, Tel Aviv expects Cairo to jointly investigate the incident.

“We will update instructions, work methods, and tools to keep smuggling to a minimum and ensure that such tragic attacks do not happen again. Israel has sent a clear message to the Egyptian government: we expect the joint investigation to be comprehensive and thorough,” Netanyahu explained.

As the Prime Minister of Israel pointed out, such interaction is part of a landmark cooperation that will benefit both countries. He also added that the incident with the death of the military can be considered not only serious, but also unusual.

“We will draw all the necessary conclusions regarding our actions on the southern border, on the Israeli-Egyptian border,” Netanyahu stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the Israeli army announced a shootout near the border with Egypt.
