A number of foreign countries are showing interest in the Russian anti-aircraft missile system (ZRS) S-500. Vladimir Drozhzhov, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), told RIA Novosti about this during the Aero India 2023 exhibition held in India.

“Some countries are showing interest in the S-500 air defense system, but we have not yet received any preliminary negotiations on them with the Indian side, as well as requests for their delivery,” the head said.

In May 2022, Aleksey Leonkov, editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, stated that the S-500 is a dual-use system that is capable of performing air and missile defense.

In the same month, Yuri Borisov, while serving as Deputy Prime Minister, announced that these air defense systems began to enter service in Russia.
