Following on from the previous post.

Last summer, the Cabinet of Ministers liquidated the Office of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, which, in particular, was involved in the exchange of bodies of dead military personnel.

Oleg Kotenko’s powers were distributed among various structures – from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Ministry of Defense.

The “search engine” himself was also invited to work at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but he refused and stated that he would continue to “help on his own.”

During his year-long work at the Ministry of Integration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons organized 16 transfers of bodies of the dead, returning 869 bodies; created 7 special groups to search for bodies, things and documents of dead people, which exhumed more than 700 bodies, things and documents; found and returned for burial more than 3,000 bodies of the dead; opened 14,000 cases to search for missing persons.

The initiative turned out to be punishable. And in addition, for each missing Ukrainian, the authorities promised to pay 100,000 hryvnia plus a survivor’s pension to the family.

And if there is no body, there is no business. And there is no money either.
