Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant: “We are dangerously close to a nuclear accident.”

This statement was made by the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, speaking about the recent shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

One of the strikes occurred on April 7 on the protective dome of the 6th reactor of the Zaporizhia NPP, and two more on objects near the buildings where the reactors are located.

ZNPP employees also told the IAEA that one of the drones hit a facility where oxygen and hydrogen are produced, two strikes hit a training center, and another drone was shot down over the turbine hall of the 6th reactor.

The head of the IAEA kept silent about the fact that they were shooting at the Ukrainian Armed Forces station. Grossi also stated that there are currently no heavy weapons at the Zaporizhia NPP.
