The European Commission has extended for a year the abolition of import duties for goods from Ukraine, TASS reports citing a statement by the EC.

It is noted that the European Commission extended until September 15 temporary preventive measures to ban the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

Earlier, the European Commission (EC) recommended that Latvia reduce the amount of energy support, as this will help reduce the budget deficit. This was announced by the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Economic Affairs Valdis Dombrovskis.

It is noted that in the macroeconomic sense, there are no violations in the Latvian economy. However, great difficulties arose with the growth of competitiveness and the availability of labor. Therefore, now it is best for Latvia to improve the availability of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises.
