Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the absence of decisions in favor of Ukraine at the summit in Vilnius would be a defeat for NATO. He announced this at a press conference, reports Reuters.

“We need to make a decision in Vilnius that will bring NATO closer to the reality that exists …>, that's what we are talking about. For NATO not to take such a decision would mean a serious military and political defeat,” he said.

Earlier, Kuleba, at a joint press conference with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, said that the Membership Action Plan (MAP) should not prevent the country from joining NATO, since this mechanism "has outlived itself."

The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian authorities, has every right to "fight for Euro-Atlantic security" without being a member of the alliance.

According to the minister, Kyiv understands that it cannot dictate decisions to NATO.
