Former US Vice President Mike Pence has filed paperwork to run for president, Reuters reports.

Pence, 63, will kick off his campaign with a June 7 speech in Iowa.

Earlier it was reported that Pence will soon put forward his candidacy in the presidential elections, which will be held in the fall of 2024.

As noted, Pence is going to compete for the seat of the Republican Party presidential candidate with his former boss. ABC News indicates that the politician will have to convince voters that he is a good choice by touting the political achievements gained while working with Trump.

It was also reported that Pence is gaining about 6% of the rating among supporters and representatives of the Republican Party. As noted, 61% of Republicans are ready to support Trump in the elections.
