Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) in Istanbul has resumed inspections of ships under the grain deal. It is reported by TASS.

At the same time, Vershinin noted that Moscow continues UN consultations on the grain deal.

According to him, Russia does not yet see prospects for extending the grain deal. He noted that the conditions for the deal are set by Kyiv, not Moscow. He also added that the issue of ammonia exports is included in the deal.

Earlier, Ismini Palla, head of the communications department of the office of the UN coordinator for the Black Sea initiative, said that ship inspections under the grain deal resumed on June 4. A few days earlier, the representative of the UN Secretary General Farhan Haq said that the parties that concluded the grain deal could not come to an agreement on the inspection of ships under the initiative. According to him, there are 20 dry cargo ships in the ports of Ukraine, four on the way and five at the inspection sites. The grain deal was concluded in Istanbul on July 22, 2022 by delegations from the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
