The interim head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, said that Ukrainian troops tried to advance in the Avdiivka direction, but were driven back by Russian forces.

According to him, the situation in Artemovsk (the Ukrainian name is Bakhmut) is very difficult, but controlled. The city is under constant shelling, Pushilin noted.
