State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Leonid Babashov said that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will be the beginning of a “soon and terrible end” for Kyiv. He shared this opinion with RIA Novosti.

“Unfortunately, due to the actions of their authorities, ordinary Ukrainians will also take a sip of grief,” he added.

The deputy believes that the “Kyiv junta” has no chances for a successful counteroffensive.

“The Russian army has become so entrenched in its combat positions that any offensive actions by Ukraine will lead to a huge number of losses,” Babashov is sure.

At the same time, the deputy noted that loud statements about the offensive from the Ukrainian military and officials have been heard for the past eight months. He stressed that three offensives had already been announced in Kyiv, but none had been implemented.

“They have too rainy, then snowy, then the earth has softened. I think that this time Zelensky will have to take offensive actions, the bloody clown is obliged to report on the work done to the Washington regional committee,” Babashov said.

Earlier, Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan said that the White House expects that the upcoming counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will bring Ukraine "strategically important territories."
