The head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor), Svetlana Radionova, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that by 2026, “remote” environmental supervision will appear in the Russian Federation, in which enterprises will independently upload information on the impact on the environment into an electronic system.

“We are waiting for the introduction of remote supervision, and I think that it will appear in its finished form by 2026,” she said.

According to the head of Rosprirodnadzor, such a system will actually become a substitute for supervision and will ensure “full openness” of business, as well as reduce the verification burden on enterprises.

Radionova added that among the companies that are already transmitting environmental information to Rosprirodnadzor, Gazpromneft can be noted.

Earlier, the Committee on Ecology and Nature Management of the RSPP summed up the results of work for 2022.
