Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated that Armenia's membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is associated with problems, but does not limit Yerevan's cooperation with other countries. The statement was made by Grigoryan on the air of the Armenian Channel One.

“Armenia's participation in the CSTO creates certain problems, but does not limit cooperation with different countries. We are intensively working with Western partners to strengthen our security cooperation and will continue this work,” Grigoryan said.

At the same time, he noted that it would be difficult to find a case of significant CSTO assistance to Armenia after 2020.

“Since 2020, there have been three large-scale attacks by Azerbaijan on Armenia, in which the CSTO did not provide any assistance to Armenia,” the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council stressed.

According to Grigoryan, the behavior of the CSTO is not serious now, since the establishment of a mission to collect facts about the events in Nagorno-Karabakh was proposed only after an alternative was found in Yerevan in the form of an EU monitoring mission.

Earlier, Grigoryan said that Armenia had found a replacement for the purchase of weapons from Russia.
