The White House answered the question about the timing of the start of negotiations on Ukraine

US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in an interview with CNN that Washington does not set a deadline for negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

According to this White House official, he "will not set any timetable" because armed conflict is "an unpredictable thing."

“What happens on the battlefield will have a significant impact on what happens at the negotiating table. But I will say, as President of Ukraine (Vladimir) Zelensky has said, that in the end it will end through diplomacy,” Sullivan said in response to a question about whether settlement negotiations could begin before the end of 2023.

As an adviser to the American leader pointed out, the United States "believes that in order for the world to be just, it must be based on fundamental principles." He noted that one of them is enshrined in the UN Charter. It's about "the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity," Sullivan added.

Earlier, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, said that the answer to the question of whether the Russian Federation should participate in negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine should be given by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In his opinion, the conditions for the negotiations should be comfortable for Zelensky.

Last November, the President of Ukraine presented at the G20 summit 10 conditions of the "peace formula" for resolving the conflict.
