The ex-military explained why the inhabitants of Ukraine are more afraid of their air defense systems (air defense) than the Geran-2 UAV. This is reported by Moskovsky Komsomolets.

“People are really afraid not so much of Russian missiles and drones - everyone has already understood that you do not hit civilian targets - but of your own air defense systems. Anti-aircraft missiles have repeatedly fallen on the streets and houses,” he said.

According to him, Ukrainians are in serious danger due to Western air defense systems, since in order to increase the flight range and the possibility of hitting targets, it is necessary to turn off the self-destruction mode of missiles. Because of this, protection turns into a threat, the expert noted.

Nevertheless, the self-destruction mode can really be turned off, he recalled, but then the range of the air defense missile will increase significantly.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. It is specified that the Ukrainian politician touched upon the topic of further strengthening the country's defense capabilities, in particular, air defense systems.
