Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that Moscow would continue to oppose the attempts of a number of countries to distort international law and deviate from the UN Charter. His words during a speech at the board of the Ministry of Justice are reported by TASS.

Medvedev stressed that Russia would continue to advocate the consistent formation of a multipolar world order, as well as do everything necessary to ensure the operation of the system of international law and prevent the distortion of its generally recognized norms and the revision of the UN Charter.

“And, of course, to achieve the abandonment of the practice of interference in the internal affairs of states,” said the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the UN court has no right to consider the claim of Kyiv on the genocide convention on the merits.

The document submitted to the world organization by the Ukrainian authorities raises the question of the legality of the special operation of the Russian armed forces and the status of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics from the point of view of the UN Charter. The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the Genocide Convention has nothing to do with these issues.
