The leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, Florian Filippo, said that the European Union is ready to commit suicide for the sake of the United States, since the EU, according to Filippo, serves their interests. The politician said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Filippo noted that now the policy of France "is not aimed at the benefit of the people."

“The European Union is even ready to commit suicide for the sake of the United States,” he said, speaking about the consequences of sanctions for Europe.

The politician noted that "ordinary people suffer" from the current economic situation in European countries.

“There is no rational explanation for this. What is happening is real madness,” says Filippo.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, there is the so-called Western world, which isolates itself more and more.

“We don't want to build a future next to the Russian Federation, China, Brazil, India, African countries that are trying to become independent, but this is a wonderful world that we should try to cooperate with. France could be a bridge between the Anglo-American world and the BRICS world, but we chose to be an American colony. This is not the path to peace,” he added.

Florian Filippo also said that France is a "pawn" of the United States, which is why it cannot become a mediator in Ukraine.
