The European Union (EU) Special Representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak announced the acceptance of the Kosovo settlement plan by both sides. It is reported by RTS.

According to him, a meeting was held in Brussels on February 27, at which an agreement was reached that there is no longer any need to discuss the text of the proposal published on the EU website.

At the same time, according to him, “trust between the parties is weak and both parties require guarantees.”

Lajcak stressed that the EU's main goal is to agree on the full implementation of the proposal.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced his readiness to approve the West's plan for a settlement with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Prior to this, Vučić had stated that he would not sign a surrender, would not confirm the independence of Kosovo, and would not support the membership of the self-proclaimed republic in the UN.

On March 1, the President of Serbia said on the air of the national television RTS about the readiness of the country's authorities to discuss the implementation of the European Union's plan for a settlement in Kosovo, in addition to recognizing the independence of the partially recognized republic and its entry into the UN.
