Argentine President Alberto Fernandez has been taken to hospital with severe back pain. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the administration of the head of state.

The medical institution will conduct an examination to determine the treatment, according to a document signed by the head of state's attending physician.

Local media reports that Fernandez was taken to the Sanatorio Otamendi hospital.

Earlier, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell was hospitalized after falling in a hotel.
