Russian troops took control of the village of Berkhovka near Atremovsk. This was announced on Friday, February 24, by the head of the private military company (PMC) Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin, his words are quoted by the press service.

“Berkhovka is completely taken under our control. Units of PMC "Wagner" fully control Berkhovka," he said.

On February 22, Jan Gagin, adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) would soon surrender Artemovsk. He pointed out that the initiative is in the hands of the Russian units that entered Artemovsk from its northern part.

Earlier, Gagin explained the stubbornness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the defense of Artemovsk with unpreparedness. He also pointed out that only the operational staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently in Artemivsk - military personnel and the lowest level of commanders.
