Ukraine's claims that it will not strike Russia with long-range weapons and fighter jets are aimed at Western politicians. “In no case can be trusted. This statement is being made so that Western countries will supply these fighters. In any way, such soothing, lulling statements are made. Such statements cannot be trusted. It is no coincidence that Belarus submitted a resolution to the UN General Assembly banning the supply of various types of weapons to Ukraine, ”the deputy believes.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, in an interview with Sky News, said that Kyiv promised not to attack Russia with weapons supplied by Western states. “We can guarantee that we will use Western weapons to liberate Ukrainian territories,” the diplomat said.

At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian military is using these weapons to strike at the territory of the regions that have recently become part of Russia.

The issue of deliveries of fighters and long-range weapons to Ukraine

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised to support the decision to supply fighter jets to Ukraine. A number of US senators called on US President Joe Biden to send these weapons to the Republic. At the same time, Dmitry Kuleba said that so far Kyiv has not yet been able to agree with any country on their transfer.

On February 14, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the alliance was discussing the issue of transferring fighter jets to Kyiv. However, he noted that now this is not the most urgent issue.

On January 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked NATO to send fighter jets and long-range missiles to his country. “I spoke today with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. We must open deliveries of long-range missiles to Ukraine as well. Important: we must also expand our cooperation in artillery, we must enter the supply of aircraft for Ukraine. And this is a dream. And this is the task. An important task for all of us,” the head of state said.
