Acting (acting) Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky spoke about the first battle of the volunteer battalion named after Pavel Sudoplatov on the front line. It is reported by TASS.

According to him, the fighters of the formation went through a "baptism of fire" on the line of contact in the Zaporozhye direction. They hit the enemy armored car with an anti-tank guided missile. This happened when the volunteers were in intelligence.

The head of the region specified that the first company of 144 people is on the line of contact. The second company is just getting ready to advance. Two more are undergoing combat coordination.

Earlier, Balitsky said that 600 people joined the Sudoplatov battalion, including Serbs, Turks and Scandinavians.

In September 2022, it became known that two volunteer detachments were formed in the Zaporozhye region, which were named after the Soviet intelligence officer Pavel Sudoplatov and the Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
