In Belarus, as part of a combat readiness check, a mechanized unit with air defense forces (Air Defense) will work out the security and defense of the area. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic in Telegram.

“As part of the ongoing verification of the combat readiness of the armed forces, one of the military units of the mechanized formation, reinforced by air defense units, advanced to the designated area,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement of the ministry, the personnel will perform a number of combat training tasks, including organizing the protection and defense of the area, its engineering equipment. In addition, a set of measures for logistics and technical support will be carried out.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that up to 15,000 Russian servicemen are being trained in the republic under the agreement on the regional grouping of troops (RGV) of the Union State. According to him, in the event of a possible aggression against the country, such a division will be completely at his disposal.
