The events of the past year highlighted the problem of the long-term genocide of the inhabitants of Donbass by the Kyiv authorities, said the Ombudsman of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Victoria Serdyukova. About it writes RIA Novosti.

According to her, the "blind" world community did not notice the violation of human rights in the Donbass for many years. The Commissioner for Human Rights clarified that over the course of eight years, due to the armed conflict initiated by Kiev, people died here, infrastructure suffered, the civilian population was injured, lost houses, apartments, and their relatives. “And all this in the international arena was not perceived as Ukrainian aggression,” Serdyukova stressed.

She said that only after the recognition of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR) by Russia, Kyiv's cruel policy towards these regions became an obvious fact. “Even the “blind” and “deaf-mute” world community, including in the person of human rights institutions, still saw that the people were dying and that there was destruction,” she stressed.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Western countries and international human rights organizations cannot but know that Ukrainian troops are shelling residential areas of Donbass. He noted that "everyone is silent, as if nothing is happening."
