The head of the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, on the air of the Rada TV channel, revealed the timing when Kyiv received information about the visit of American leader Joe Biden. According to him, the date of the trip became known on February 17, RIA Novosti reports.

The official specified that the visit of the head of the White House had been prepared for a long time. It became known exactly about him last Friday, when the Ukrainian administration spoke with US national security adviser Jake Sullivan.

“The visit was prepared in a regime of great confidentiality due to security issues, so few people knew about it,” Yermak added.

On February 20, Biden made an unannounced visit to Kyiv. According to The New York Times, the politician arrived in the Ukrainian capital by train from Poland. The American leader met with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed his commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity and pledged further support, including a new military aid package.
