The United States has allocated $1.1 billion to Ukraine and Moldova to support energy infrastructure. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal announced this on his Telegram channel.

According to the politician, the Ukrainian authorities appreciate Washington's support in restoring the energy grid and supporting its economy. At the same time, he estimated the cost of restoring all damaged generation capacities many times higher.

“We expect to raise $17 billion this year on the basis of “financial Ramstein” in order to restore critical infrastructure on the principle of build back better (better than it was)," Shmygal wrote.

Electricity in Ukraine is regularly cut off for consumers due to Russian strikes on critical infrastructure. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on one of these massive strikes on February 11th.
