The visit of US President Joe Biden to Kyiv is similar to the preparation of the Ukrainian authorities for defeat in the confrontation with Russia. Senator from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Natalya Nikonorova shared this opinion in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to her, the main purpose of Biden's trip is to report that Ukraine does not have the opportunity to win the battles for the Donbass, and "hard days" await it.

“And its president [Vladimir Zelensky] is no longer so categorical in his promises to hold Artemivsk to the last,” Nikonorova said.

She called Biden's promises related to a new military aid package an attempt to "drape with expensive foreign fabric" defects in the design of the Ukrainian state machine.

“Earlier, they confidently stated that Ukraine was winning with the help of Western weapons. Now, against the backdrop of tired mantras that billions in budgetary assistance will be allocated to Kyiv, and the economy of an isolated Russia is in trouble, a well-coordinated chorus of hard times has sounded, ”added the senator.

Biden made an unannounced visit to Kyiv on the morning of Monday, February 20. As The New York Times reported, the politician arrived in the Ukrainian capital by train from Poland.

Speaking at a press conference in Kiev, Biden announced a new $500 million military aid package to Ukraine that would include artillery munitions, air defenses (air defenses), anti-tank systems and other weapons.
