Russia can use airports in Transnistria to launch strikes against Ukraine, as well as use its military for operations against its Armed Forces. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Journalists asked the politician if he was ready to send an army "to protect Moldova from the Russians in Transnistria." He did not deny this possibility, assuring that the threat from Tiraspol really exists.

“Our intelligence has warned President Maia Sandu about this danger, and she explains that she has confirmation in this sense. He thanks us and knows that we are ready to help,” Zelensky said.

Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that Kyiv had given her documents detailing how Russia intends to carry out a change of power in the country. Moscow called Chisinau's accusations baseless.
