Russian Aerospace Forces carried out strikes on concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters in Avdiyivka

The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) launched a series of strikes with FAB-500 air bombs on concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters stationed in Avdiivka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Attacks on points of temporary deployment (PVD) of Ukrainian troops were carried out on the evening of Sunday, February 19.

Earlier, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) hit the deployment point of the 383rd Regiment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the city of Khmelnitsky.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special operation in the Donbass. Thus, according to him, Moscow responded to requests for military assistance from the heads of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR).
