For the first time in the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet), night refueling of Tu-142MZ anti-submarine aircraft took place. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that refueling was carried out from the Il-78M tanker aircraft of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia. "Training flights of the crews were carried out both during the day and at night, and the night refueling in the air of Tu-142MZ aircraft in the Pacific Fleet was carried out for the first time," the press service of the Eastern Military District specified.

In total, two Tu-142MZs made more than 20 dockings with the Il-78M. It is noted that refueling was carried out at an altitude of 4-5 thousand meters at a speed of 500-600 kilometers per hour.

Last February, the US Air Force demonstrated ultra-fast refueling from a KC-46A Pegasus air tanker.
