The Rocket and Space Corporation (RKK) Energia (part of Roskosmos) began searching for a developer for the operation of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS). This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the public procurement website.

“The purpose of the events is to prepare a reasonable position on the intended use and purpose, as well as the business model of the Russian orbital station in a manned version for the further formation of technical requirements for the functionality, configuration and consumer qualities of the ROS,” the terms of reference say.

The materials report that the maximum price of the contract is 9.6 million rubles, and applications for participation in the tender are accepted until February 27. The document states that the operator of the operation must determine the purpose of the ROS, based on the global trends in astronautics, and the corresponding tasks of Russia in this context.

Also, the developer of the operation is asked to determine the business model of the ROC and the sources of its financing.

The winner of the tender has 3.5 months to provide all services.

In February, Deputy General Designer of RSC Energia, Chief Designer of ROS Vladimir Kozhevnikov, in an interview with TASS, said that the Scientific and Energy Module (NEM) of the Russian Orbital Station is planned to be launched in 2027, four more modules will be sent into orbit in 2028-2030.
