Plans for the production of Russian Ka-226T helicopters in India are still preserved. Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, spoke about this in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the Aero India 2023 international air show taking place in Bangalore.

“The joint venture Indo-Russian Helicopters Limited, created with the participation of Rosoboronexport, has sent its proposals for organizing the production of Ka-226T multi-purpose helicopters and their property in India to the HAL aircraft manufacturing company and the Indian Ministry of Defense,” the head said.

Mikheev added that the Russian side continues to promote Ka-31 type helicopters in India.

“This helicopter is designed to control the air and surface situation, monitor economic zones and water areas. It has no analogues on the world market, and therefore is of interest to our Indian partners,” said the head of Rosoboronexport.

Mikheev noted that India pays great attention to the achievements of Russian helicopter builders.

In February, the general director of Rosoboronexport noted that, against the backdrop of a special military operation (SVO), interest in Russian military equipment abroad has grown.
