Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov announced the most responsible position of China on the situation with the balloon over the territory of the United States. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to him, Washington's further steps in this situation remain an open question.

“Our Chinese colleagues are pursuing the most responsible line and, as we see it on many other issues, are always set for dialogue and exchange of views. How the United States will behave is an open question, ”Ryabkov explained.

The US military, on behalf of US President Joe Biden, shot down a Chinese balloon over the Atlantic Ocean in the east coast of the country. At the same time, they announced that the balloon was a spy balloon and was monitoring US strategic facilities. The US military said they were ready to restore the balloon if necessary.

The PRC considered the destruction of the balloon an "excessive reaction" and protested in connection with a "serious violation of international practice."
