Residents of Poland condemned the decision of the Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Blaszczak to lay flowers at the memorial with the flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (the organization is banned in Russia). This is reported by the publication Kresy.

The politician arrived in Kyiv at the end of last week. The Ministry of Defense of Poland released a photo from the events attended by Blaszczak, including a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial to the fallen Ukrainian military. In one of the pictures, the minister knelt in front of a monument with graffiti with the UPA flag on it.

As Kresy notes, the Poles have subjected such a photo to severe criticism. They wondered why the Polish authorities had not commented on the incident.

Later, the Polish Ministry of Defense deleted the post on Twitter dedicated to this event and published an edited version where the symbols of the UPA were cut off.

In November, a year passed in Poland, Ukrainians were offered to condemn the activities of the UPA* and OUN.
