Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss called on the country's government, led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, to change its attitude towards China and take a tougher stance on it. This is reported by The Daily Telegraph.

According to the publication, in the near future Truss will hold several public appearances, during which she intends to focus on the alleged threat to the security of the UK from China.

The Daily Telegraph clarifies that on February 17, the ex-premier is due to visit Tokyo, where during the events he will focus on "Beijing's threats to Taiwan", the practices of "economic coercion" by the PRC and "gross violations of human rights in China."

In November 2022, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that China is the biggest threat to the economic security of the kingdom.

Sunak also pledged on behalf of London to support Taiwan in "opposing Chinese aggression." According to the prime minister, Western countries largely agree with Britain's opinion that China systematically challenges Western values and interests.
