Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said during a conversation with young people in the city of Aydin that the Turkish government will decide on February 6 on retaliatory measures to close the consulates of several Western countries there. It is reported by TRT.

“Our Foreign Minister earlier summoned all the ambassadors of these countries. They were given an ultimatum that they would either stop acting like that or the price would be high. We have a cabinet meeting on Monday. We will make the necessary decisions there,” the president said.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said during a joint press conference with his Argentine counterpart Santiago Cafiero in Istanbul that Western countries that closed their consulates in Istanbul "are hard to call allies and friends."

The Turkish diplomat said that the behavior of Western partners does not look like an allied one, as it increases tension on the eve of the elections in the country.
