Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in an interview that the West and Russia have diametrically opposed pictures of reality in the context of their geopolitical confrontation, which has been centered around Ukraine since last spring. The interview was published on his YouTube channel.

The former head of the Israeli government drew attention to his contacts with the presidents of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, as well as the leaders of Western countries.

According to him, each of them has "its own history."

“He [Putin] has his own scenario of events and his own worldview, while Zelensky and the West have their own,” the politician continued.

According to his assessment, the West presents the Russian president as "an imperialist who seeks to capture as many territories as possible."

“First Georgia, then something else. If we do not stop him in Ukraine, he will attack Poland and the Baltic states, ”Bennett said his vision of the West’s position towards the Russian Federation.

He also outlined his perception of the position of the Russian side towards the West.

“Putin presents the situation like this...>: “When the Berlin Wall fell, we agreed with NATO that they would not expand it and certainly would not accept countries bordering Russia,” the ex-premier said.

In the same interview, Bennet expressed the opinion that the conflict in Ukraine arose because of the intention of the Kyiv authorities to join NATO.
